Soft bready or light biscuit malt, with low to medium floral or citrusy hops. Very low fruitiness.

Medium-light to medium body, medium to high carbonation.

Where Dorada Pampeana comes from

It emerged in Argentina among homebrewers, who made a simple blonde ale with whatever ingredients they had on hand, often just pale malt and local hops. It became very popular in Argentine craft breweries, and the BJCP included it in Appendix B.

Ingredients

Pale or Pilsner malt, sometimes with a little light caramel malt or wheat. Argentine hops such as Cascade or Mapuche. Clean ale yeast.

How to brew Dorada Pampeana at home

It's a good style to start with: a short recipe, fermented with a clean ale yeast at 17-19 °C (63-66 °F) and mashed at 65-67 °C (149-153 °F). The classic mistake is overdoing the caramel malt or the hops and turning it into something else. Aim for cleanness and balance.

Food pairing

Empanadas, Argentine asado or pizza.

Glassware: Teku glass, a tasting glass that works with almost any style.
